Tasting Notes

A vibrant golden color. Hints of cardamom, anise and hazelnut add interest to the core lemon, mineral flavors. A streamlined complexity. Inviting aromas of citrus fruit, lemon blossom, acacia, white nectarine, wet stone and subtle spice. Overall a vibrant refreshing wine. On the palate, perfectly balanced oak and fruit flavor supported by lovely notes of yellow pear and apple, white flowers and citrus oil. An elegant balanced wine of naturally balanced acidity, revealing herself upfront, ending with a long mineral finish.

Vintage

In 2010 we experienced a cool, moderate growing season that ended with early wet October rains. An unusually wet spring developed into a dry summer, with moderate temperatures than had been seen in the previous year. Budbreak was normal with a touch of warm weather in March, but a bit of wet weather in late Spring delayed bloom for two to three weeks. Summer's cool temperatures extended the growing season and allowed the grapes to ripen and develop slowly. Harvest was two weeks later than usual, the end result of ripe flavors which proved become an exemplary wine. The 2010 Chardonnay is a medium bodied luscious wine of tropical & citrus fruits intertwined with mineral notes embodied with the tremendous complexity of these six clones.
